In the know – new NHS health guides for parents

New pregnancy and children’s health information booklets are now available to download from your NHS in NW London.

To help support mums, new parents and your families with practical health advice and provide walk through of NHS services available, three new booklets are now available to download from the healthier NW London website. (www.healthiernorthwestlondon.nhs.uk)

The booklets provide information about common conditions, symptoms, advice about self-care and details of the right services that can provide help and support and how to contact them.

The ‘your pregnancy’ and ‘after your baby’s’ birth booklets will be available to women, mum’s and families through GP practices through maternity services. The booklets provide a wealth of information about what to expect throughout pregnancy.

‘Your child’s health’ is available to download here and through local NHS websites. It provides information on; looking after your child at home, getting advice through NHS 111, when to call your GP and when to call 999 or got to A&E.

By creating one suite of materials it is hoped that families will have the right advice and support to help their growing families and know what to do, in the event they need help.
